The celebration of the 2025 ‘International Chinese Language Day’ which successfully held at the Chinese Cultural Center in Nigeria, on Friday, April 18, 2025 hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria and Center for Language Education and Cooperation, brought together different persons in attendance.
Speaking at the event, the Deputy Director of the China Cultural Center in Nigeria, Liu Zhanping, said the Chinese remains committed to advancing Chinese education and cultural exchange initiatives in Nigeria, and is willing to work together with Nigerian to take practical measures to promote mutual learning between civilizations, deepen people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and write a new chapter in China-Nigeria friendship.
Liu Zhanping stated that International Chinese Language Day is a shared festival for Chinese language enthusiasts worldwide, carrying the important mission of promoting the Chinese language and facilitating cultural exchanges.
He said, In the era of globalization, this is a vital window for the world to understand China, and the Chinese language will see its international influence continue to grow.

“for Chinese language enthusiasts, aiming at promoting Chinese language and cultural exchange.
“As one of the world’s oldest yet
most dynamic languages, Chinese embodies profound cultural wisdom.
“Each Chinese character resembles a unique painting, its strokes tracing the historical legacy and spiritual essence of the Chinese civilization over millennia.
“Delving into Chinese opens a gateway to the enchanting East.
“Chinese is not merely a tool for communication but a bridge connecting cultures and hearts. In Nigeria, a growing number of friends are embracing Chinese learning—a testament to the language’s allure and our collective commitment to multicultural dialogue.
“Since its establishment, the China Cultural Center in Nigeria has dedicated itself to advancing Chinese education and cultural exchange. We offer di¥erse courses tailored to all proficiency levels, ages, and professions.
“Our professional and passionate instructors provide high-quality teaching, guiding learners to overcome challenges and master the language.
“Additionally, cultural activities such as calligraphy exhibitions, traditional opera performances, and martial arts demonstrations immerse participants in China’s artistic heritage, deepening both
linguistic skills and mutual understanding.
“In this globalized era, cultural exchange is paramount. As a vital window into China, Chinese continues to grow in
influence.
“Nigeria, a key nation in Africa, plays a key role in fostering China-Africa cultural ties. Through International Chinese Language Day, we hope to inspire more Nigerians to join this journey, strengthening the bond of friendship between our peoples and enriching global cultural diversity.

Over 250 participants attended the event, including Mrs. Larai Nana Ahmed , Director of the Education Support Services Department of the federal Ministry of Education, Dr. Muhammed Sani Ladan, Director of the FCT Secondary Education Board, Mr Muhammad Sulaiman，the president of China Alumni Association of Nigeria and the president of the Society of Nigerian Artist, representative of the federal Ministry of Art, Culture and Creative Economy, teachers and students from China Corner School, representatives from Chinese-funded enterprises and media reporters.
