Leadership and personal development expert, Oluseyi Ntaba Adepoju, has called on Nigerians to embrace self-motivation, personal responsibility and continuous learning as critical ingredients for achieving lasting success and sustainable growth.
Adepoju made the call while speaking at the Impact That Scales programme, where he challenged participants to shift their focus from external rewards to internal drive, noting that true transformation begins with the individual.
Introducing himself as someone popularly referred to as the “Owner of the Power of Strength,” Adepoju said many people often doubt what is possible until they witness real-life results.
According to him, individuals should not rely solely on organisations, employers or external incentives to stay motivated but should instead cultivate an inner commitment to growth and excellence.
“My focus today is on how you can motivate yourself, not what an organisation is giving you to motivate you. Sustainable success starts from within,” he said.
Adepoju explained that while institutions and workplaces can create enabling environments, personal development ultimately depends on the mindset and actions of each individual.
He stressed that progress cannot be achieved in environments characterised by confusion or a lack of direction.
“You cannot systemise idiocy. You cannot systemise confusion. Clarity is the foundation of growth,” he said.
During his presentation, he introduced participants to what he described as the SCALE Model, a framework designed to help individuals and organisations improve performance and achieve meaningful results.
According to him, the model emphasises the need for people to be clear about their purpose, align their actions with their goals, continue learning and execute with excellence.
He urged participants to deliberately pursue personal and professional development rather than waiting for opportunities to come to them.
Commenting on attendance at the programme, Adepoju observed that initiatives aimed at building capacity often receive less attention than they deserve, despite their long-term value.
He encouraged professionals, entrepreneurs and young people to actively participate in knowledge-sharing platforms capable of transforming their careers and businesses.
“It is one thing to organise a programme, but another for people to recognise the value of showing up for opportunities that will help them scale,” he said.
He added that growth requires intentional action, discipline and a willingness to learn from tested principles, urging participants to seize opportunities that strengthen leadership capacity and prepare them for greater impact.
The Impact That Scales programme brought together professionals, entrepreneurs and emerging leaders to discuss practical strategies for personal development, leadership effectiveness and sustainable growth in an increasingly competitive environment.
