Chairperson of the NIGF Multistakeholder Advisory Group and Director of Corporate Planning and Strategy at the National Information Technology Development Agency NITDA, Dr. Wariowei Dimie Shively, has announced the commencement of activities for the Nigeria Internet Governance Forum NIGF 2025.
According to a press release issued by the forum’s organisers, the two day forum scheduled for 26th and 27th November themed “Building Digital Governance Together: From Vision to Action,” will hold at the Raw Materials Research and Development Council, in Abuja.
It aims to move conversations on digital governance beyond ideas to practical solutions that foster inclusive growth across Nigeria’s digital ecosystem.

According to him, NIGF 2025 will bring together a wide range of participants from government, the private sector, civil society, academia and the technical community. Through plenary sessions, panel discussions and collaborative engagements, the forum will focus on co creating strategies to strengthen trust, spur innovation and improve inclusivity in Nigeria’s online space.
Notably, the 2025 edition will host the maiden Parliamentary Track on 26 November. Parliamentarians from the 36 states and the National Assembly are expected to attend to foster dialogue and help sharpen the national digital policy landscape. Organisers said the Parliamentary Track is intended to deepen lawmaker engagement so policies affecting digital lives are better informed and more responsive to citizens.

Organisers said the forum seeks to promote collective action towards a safer, more inclusive and innovative digital environment for all Nigerians. By bringing diverse actors into the same room, NIGF intends to convert policy ideas into actionable programmes and partnerships that can directly benefit citizens and businesses across the country.
