
ABUJA – The Federal Government has declared Monday, March 31, and Tuesday, April 1, 2025, as public holidays to mark the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, announced the holidays on behalf of the government, congratulating the Muslim faithful on the successful completion of Ramadan.
A statement by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, quoted the minister as urging Nigerians to embrace self-discipline, compassion, and unity.
He also called for prayers for the nation’s peace and prosperity while encouraging citizens to celebrate responsibly and extend kindness to the less privileged.
“On behalf of the Federal Government, he wished all Muslims a joyful Eid-el-Fitr and prayed that the season brings happiness and fulfillment to everyone,” the statement added.
